RIVIERE DU MÂT Royal Reserve reveals a complex bouquet of aromas resulting from the selection of old traditional rums chosen for their harmony and body. This blend of Rums aged in a variety of casks allows it to develop delicately woody spicy flavours.

Elaboration

According to legend, a ship sent to explore Reunion Island ran aground on a riverbed, leaving only its mast visible for many years.

Over time it became known as Rivière du Mât, in other words, ‘river of the mast’. Located in Saint-Benoît, the RIVIÈRE DU MÂT distillery produces Rums from canes grown in plantations on volcanic soil, which is what gives these Rums the typical aromas of the Reunion terroir.

A pioneer in dynamic ageing (blending different aged Rums matured in new and old casks), it produces a wide range of well-structured, complex Old Rums.
